Hello everyone! I’d like to introduce myself, my name is Kate and I am a 22 year old from Muncie, IN. Ever since I was a little girl, planning has been very important to me. I was always asking my mom what the plan was, making seating charts and name cards for casual weeknight dinners, and “planning weddings” for my dolls. I guess you can say I was born to be a wedding planner.

In high school I thought it would be possible to have my own wedding business that took care of almost everything ona wedding day. I was going to be a planner, go to cosmetology school to be able to do hair and makeup for the day of, and I was going to take the photos. If you know anything at all about weddings, I am sure that thought stressed you out. I know it does for me now.
Though that was my dream, I didn’t think that I could possibly make it my reality. Many girls want to be a wedding planner, and Muncie did not seem like it had much opportunity for me. When I applied for Ball State University I applied to be a Marketing major, that quickly changed when I saw the course list for Marketing majors and how much math that included. I then switched to a Criminology major to pursue my other interest in true crime. That also changed pretty fast when I realized that I was scared to even be at my house by myself after listening to my favorite podcast, Crime Junkie. There was no way I could be a Police Officer.

I finally made up my mind and was going to pursue my dream.. scary. When looking for an internship I came across The North Church and was so shocked when I saw that it was located in Muncie. I instantly emailed Megan asking for an internship, and got the best response. When I came in for my interview I was in awe of the building, it truly is so beautiful and I encourage you to come see it in person because the pictures don’t do it justice.
I cannot tell you how lucky I am to have the life that I do. Aside from having the best job and the best boss in the world, I have amazing friends and family as well. I live in a cute little house with my boyfriend Gavin and our cat Daisy. When I am not at the venue, you can probably find me at the gym, target, or curled up on my couch watching a movie and eating ice cream.
